Special Education at SNS
Special education aims to provide accommodated education for disabled students such as learning disabilities, learning difficulties (such as dyslexia), communication disorders, emotional and behavioral disorders, physical disabilities (such as osteogenesis imperfecta, cerebral palsy, lissencephaly, Emanuel syndrome etc.,
The Special Education Department in our school is a platform for special needs children who are adequately trained & are aware of the challenges they will face in everyday life. We have certified, well-experienced special need educators & trained shadow teachers. They train our children both in academics & vocational level in the classroom as well as in remedial with more individual attention. We have a well-equipped Occupational Therapy room & resource room to train the kids based on their needs.
Our Special Educator is an eminent consultant, Dr. A. Jalaludeen. He has multiple degrees - B.Sc., (Zoo), M.A., (Eng Lit), A.M.I.H, D.T.M.R (Bom) M.Sc., (Homeo) , M.D.H Homeopath & is a senior special educator (since 1972). He has trained more than 10000 special needs children.
Our Special Educator, Mrs. Sudha, has ten years of experience in the field of Special Education. She is a Postgraduate in M.Sc Psychology and has completed B.Ed in Special Education (TNOU) LD Course from V Excel.
We also have Mrs. Gomathy who is working as an honorary educator. She is a B.Sc graduate in Chemistry. She has been working with us at SNS for the past 12 years. She shares various responsibilities in handling the special needs of the children along with the other special educators.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Occupational Therapy is a process that involves helping people at all stages of life from toddlers to the elderly. Therapy aids children, improves their school performances and helps to look after their daily activities and needs. It also boosts their self-esteem. The areas of development are:

Our Occupational Therapist is Mr. Sebastin Starlin Raja who has 15 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist. He has done his Masters in Occupational Therapy from SRM In Paediatrics. He also worked for Pebbles Rehabilitation Centre for 4 years.
